Internships

Carley accepts interns while she is in North Carolina for the summers. Offering two types of internships, drive in and live in.

Drive in, interns are responsible for their own transportation too and from the barn and come x days a week. These interns are assigned either a project horse or a BLM mustang to work with throughout the summer along with opportunities to show and offsite adventures. Interns will also be responsible for a set of chores on their days out and can expect to learn training techniques, barn management, and equine health skills. Discounted boarding is available for drive in interns.

 You can apply to become a drive in intern starting at 11 years old.

Live In, interns are welcomed to her North Carolina facility for 2 - 8 week intervals. Interns choosing this route are provided sleeping arrangements on the farm, either in a living quarters trailer or in the home. You will have private sleeping quarters and a shared bath, along with access to a kitchen. These Interns will be assigned a series of daily chores to learn barn management skills and a set of horses to work with daily. You can also expect to learn to teach lessons, help with clinics, teach in summer camp, and gentle mustangs in your time as a live in, intern. Discounted boarding is available for live in, interns.
